Front Cover Final

This is my final front cover for my ancillary task. I went to the same location to take photographs for my front cover. I used the location of the woods, forest like, and edited them in on photo shop. i feel the front of my cover is really effect as it fits in with my genre. something about the front of the cover is a bit mysterious and doesn't give too much away to the audience. Th use of the text is effective, as it gives the piece a body to it, and really emphasises the point in the cover. to improve the piece, maybe a selection of images could have been used, maybe experimenting with the use of being able to overlap the images.
Comparing my front DVD cover for my band has some codes and conventions from a real media text one, however i feel it isn't so obviously linked to the genre. a common convention is to have the band on the front or back cover, however neither of mine has that. This I feel is a benefit, as it is an original idea, with still that professional look.

The photo on top was the original image that i had taken, round the back of a building. The photo underneath the original was what i made on photoshop. i changed the exposure on the picture, and the contrast harsher. it made the photo more abstract which ensured it fitted in with my chossen music genre.
Fonts

Above is a screen shot of what the website www.dafont.com looks like, and shows how the user has the opportunity to have a browse around the site and choose a appropriate shot.
Whilst making the front of my CD cover and the poster, i originally used standard fonts that were available on photo shop, however i felt that they were slightly boring, and didn't really fit in with my chosen genre. I went onto a website; www.dafont.com and i was able to look through a range of different fonts and sizes, and try them out on my work to see which worked most successfully. i decided to use the 'CREATOR CAMPOTYPE SMCP'. I downloaded the font and then uploaded it and opened it into photo shop, i was then able to use the font whenever i wanted, as it had been saved onto the system. Below is a screen shot of the font style that i had chosen to use:

My decisions & tools that you used on photoshop to achieve your intentions.
On photoshop i made all of my ancillary tasks, these being the magazine article and also the front and inside CD cover.
I opened all of my pictures into a blank canavas and used the exposure tool to change the contrast of the pictures. it gave an unusal abstarct effect, which really fit into my genre. I used text within my work, for obvious titles.
For the barcode of my cover i used th 'BARCODE' scipt on photoshop, and made up my own digits for the code.
I also used the stamp tool, as when rating the pieces, as if it was from a magazine, which made the piece look professional, and really up to date with the current media.
